The Academic Director (AD) is responsible for the overall education administration and management of the assigned campus. The AD will create and sustain academic and professional excellence for both students and cosmetology educators.
The core areas of responsibility for this role can be outlined as follows:
1. Academic System Management – curriculum, methodology, products, services, delivery
2. Educator Management – educator hiring, training, coaching, advising and mentoring, scheduling, and continuing education
3. Academic Operations – retention, attendance, inventory management
4. Technology – general PC applications & willingness to learn Empire systems, including Team Board, CLASS, Super Salon, Time Star
5. Student Management – scheduling, advising, customer service
6. Compliance - state and NACCAS regulations, quality visits and outcomes
7. Leadership – school management in the absence of the Executive Director
Requirements:
- Cosmetology Teachers License
- Minimum of 2-4 years of Salon Experience. Salon Management Experience Preferred.
- Excellent Leadership, Communication and Customer Service Skills
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- 3-5 years of Academic Management Experience Preferred

We are seeking Licensed Cosmetology Educators in our Minnesota campuses! Educators will be responsible for providing the best education in the industry by ensuring every student receives consistent high quality information and training during every interaction. Educators need to be professional in appearance and attitude at all times, to maintain a role model image for all students. Important job functions include teaching the curriculum in the workshop classroom, performance floor supervision and the basic management of the students regarding the policies and procedures according to the student handbook.
Primary responsibilities:
• Teach theory to workshop and rehearsal classes
• Prepare and organize daily lesson plans to ensure consistency with curriculum
• Demonstrate practical lesson plans
• Administer tests and record grades
• Consult with all students before each service
• Check each service as it is completed
• Stamp off each service on daily progress sheets, sign off on state time sheets
• Inventory management of performance floor supplies
• Maintain safety and sanitation daily
• Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed in accordance with the handbook
• Train and assist students with the Point of Sale (POS) system
Skills and experience required:
• Licensed in cosmetology; licensed educator
• Knowledge of cosmetology industry, technically sound
• Presentation
• Communication (written and verbal)
• Organization and time management
• Problem solving
